With great fanfare and excitement, the team is pleased to announce Filmable has officially launched!
Filmable was born out of frustration with a perceived lack of cohesion in the local industry. Many aspects of the work is siloed, leaving few opportunities for people to gather face to face, to unwind after a long day at the computer, or on set. Filmable was created to be a place to collect people, ideas, friends, and collaborators for an off-site casual fun time.
Our first event launching the society will be in conjunction with VIFF - the Vancouver International Film Festival. As a pillar of the local industry, we have found a great partnership with their team to bring together filmmakers of the festival for an in-person network-agnostic event made for creators of all backgrounds and skill levels.
The team aims to make recurrent events like this to build consistency, camaraderie, and connection in this creative coast of the country.
