This masterclass offers an inside look at how a film is truly made in the edit.
Led by Alexander Farah, the writer, director, and editor of One Day This Kid, the session breaks down how the film evolved from early ideas and rough cuts to the final version. You’ll see different edits of key scenes and hear why certain choices worked, others didn’t, and how the story changed along the way.
We’ll walk through:
- How the project started and the intent behind it
- A practical approach to editing
- Rough cuts, problem scenes, and creative dead ends
- How writing, directing, and editing informed each other
- The decisions that shaped the final cut — and how Alex knew it was finished
The session wraps with an open Q&A and discussion. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and your own editing challenges.
This masterclass is for editors, directors, writers, and filmmakers who want a more honest look at how stories are discovered, not planned, in the edit.
Limited space — RSVP Required. You’ll receive a follow up email inviting you to confirm your spot by paying a non-refundable $25 commitment fee.
*The commitment fee goes towards refreshments, snacks and helping Filmable continue offering accessible opportunities to our community.*
**If the workshop fee is a barrier for you, please reach out. We want to make sure this opportunity is accessible to everyone.*
