It's no secret that feedback is a core component of good filmmaking. To be an effective collaborator it’s always helpful to brush up on those skills.
Join us for an awesome workshop centered around learning How to Give and Receive Effective Feedback!
Brian Postalian & Joyce Rosario will teach you the fundamentals of Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process (CRP) and how you can apply it to your filmmaking practice no matter which department you work in.
In use for over 25 years, CRP is a feedback system based on the principle that the best possible outcome of a response session is for the maker to want to go back to work. Whether you're labouring on a script, composing a score or editing your demo reel, CRP helps you get fresh and useful feedback from your peers while giving you the tools to do the same for others' work.
Through the supportive structure of its four core steps, CRP combines the power of questions with the focus and challenge of informed dialogue. With a focus on actual works in progress – this training will highlight participation, conversation, and the flexibility of the Process.

The first half of the day will introduce the participants to CRP’s 4 Core Steps. After lunch, the participants will practice giving and receiving feedback on their works-in-progress using the tools learned from the morning.
Each selected participant will be asked to bring a work-in-progress (max. 10 mins) to the workshop. Works-in-progress may be in various states from seeds of an idea to first drafts, the key is that the works are not yet complete or finished.
