VANCOUVER, BC — Fresh off an official unveiling at the Filmmaker Spotlight Party to a roomful of local creators, industry partners, and stakeholders during VIFF, we’re thrilled to announce Year 2 of the Filmable x Collective Bunch Fellowship!
If you’re new here, Filmable was built by local working filmmakers who were tired of the usual barriers in independent cinema. We created an accessible, community-first hub right here in BC to break down silos, make more friends, and build a local industry where independent creators can actually thrive.
Partnering once again with our good friends at The Collective Bunch Society—a team dedicated to elevating Indigenous, Black, People of Color, and LGBTQ2S+ storytellers—this 6-month incubator gives ambitious filmmaking teams the dedicated time, space, and community support needed to take their first or second feature film from a dream into production.
A deep thank you to our dedicated Jurors this year for building this cohort. We had over 35 submissions this year, and it goes without saying, the decision was challenging.
2026 Jurors:
- Nach Dudseemaytha
- Ronny Kurland
- Madeleine Davis
- Paisley Smith
Thank you!

What’s the Goal? Where We’re Heading
Rather than grinding through endlessly isolated rewrites, our fellows spend six months sharpening their projects alongside peer feedback, veteran mentors, and real-world pitch sessions with local indie producers.
By the end of the fellowship, each team walks away with:
- A polished, market-ready feature script refined through rigorous peer sandboxes.
- A pitch deck & tight elevator pitch ready to present to financiers, distributors, and markets.
- A tight-knit network of collaborators and industry mentors who have their back for the long haul.
Our ultimate goal? To help reshape how the world sees BC-originated films, proving that our local independent scene is a powerhouse of high-quality, industry-leading stories.
