The future of film is in Vancouver.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Filmable Fellowship, created in partnership with Collective Bunch.
Designed to support storytellers, this inaugural fellowship features two distinct mentorship streams:
PRODUCTION STREAM
For the craftspeople who build the world of a film from the ground up. Cinematographers, production designers, editors, ADs, production managers, costumers, and other key crew will be paired one-on-one with veteran mentors to hone their artistry and grow their careers.
FEATURE STREAM
For bold, ambitious filmmakers developing their first or second feature film—directors, writers, and creative producers with a strong point of view who are ready to be championed as they take their careers to the next level.
The Fellowship is about more than finishing a script, polishing a pitch or learning new skills: it’s about building the foundation for a sustainable creative career.
Over five months, fellows will work closely with mentors and peers to refine their craft, strengthen their strategies, and shape films that are both artistically resonant and commercially viable.
👉 Join us in building the next wave of cinema from BC.
Applications are open through Sunday Sept 21, 2025 @ 11:59 pm PT.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. So how much of my valuable time is this reallllllllly going to take?
Building a career — and great projects — takes time! We ask participants to commit over the course of five months (November 2025 – March 2026).
Feature Stream: Regular in-person sessions (usually Saturdays, 2–6 hrs), a few hours per month of one-on-one mentorship, a few hours of “homework” each week, plus networking events sprinkled throughout.
Production Stream:
A goal-planning session in November, around 20 hours of practical mentorship, a few hours per month of one-on-one mentorship, occasional in-person Saturday sessions (2–6 hrs), plus networking events.-------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I’d love to apply for the Feature Stream, but my script isn’t quite in presentable form yet. Would 5 consecutive pages that are not the first five be acceptable? Or is it okay if it’s a rough/early draft?
A. We do require the first five pages of your script, and applicants should have a full draft completed at the time of submission.
We recognize that “rough draft” or "early draft" can mean different things to different people. Applicants who have spent time with their scripts and project materials who are in need of a fresh perspective and guidance are best suited for this fellowship. Our advice is simple: submit the strongest version of your work that you can at this stage. We’re selecting a small group of fellows, so we encourage applicants to put their best foot forward.

Q. Do I really need two or more people to submit for the Feature Stream?
A. We encourage applicants to apply as part of a team — projects with two or more key creatives are best positioned to benefit from the fellowship.
However, solo applicants will be considered.

Q. Is this a training program, funding, or something else? What do you mean by fellowship?
A. The Filmable x Collective Bunch Fellowship is a mentorship and development program. Fellows are paired with experienced industry mentors, participate in workshops and networking events, and receive tailored support to advance their projects and careers.
The Feature Stream is not a direct funding program, but is designed to help participants strengthen their projects, position them for financing, and build the connections needed to move toward production.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Q. For the Feature Stream, do you consider scripts written in a language other than English?
A. Although we will support scripts that will eventually be produced in a language other than English, your script must be translated into English before you submit it.
