You’ve written a script. Bravo!
Now the big question: does the market want it?
Filmable’s workshop, Writing in the Current Market, is designed to help screenwriters better understand today’s landscape for television and feature films in BC and across Canada.
We are lucky to be welcoming these local legends to facilitate:
- Ryan Atimayoo
- Jennica Harper
- Kathleen Hepburn
- Scott Button
- Tesh Guttikonda
FORMAT
The session kicks off with a moderated conversation with industry facilitators about what’s actually happening in the market right now. What are people buying? What makes a project viable? And how do writers position their work so it has a real shot at moving forward?
In the second half, we’ll break into smaller groups for case studies. A few attendees will soft-pitch their projects and receive feedback from facilitators on how the concept might fit into the current market — and what adjustments could help strengthen it.
Think of it as part industry reality check, part creative strategy session.
