We’re expanding on our pitching workshop from last year to try something audacious. There’s no denying that pitching is one of THE HARDEST parts of getting your projects off the ground. It’s also true that there aren’t a lot of resources available to help people practice in a safe space with trusted feedback.

Filmable is hosting a one-of-a-kind pitching workshop series to help our community gain more confidence in their pitches. Let’s be renowned for our pitching prowess!

Workshop 1 - Pitching 101

This workshop is open to everyone and will focus on the key parts of any pitch: the verbal pitch and the visual deck. Led by experts in their fields, participants will come away with more tools to help refine and strengthen their pitches.

Date: Saturday, Jan 17th

Location: Franklin Commons, 1573 East Pender Street

Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm

Workshop 2 - Pitch-A-Thon

Practice makes perfect pitches. In this workshop, selected participants will apply their knowledge from the first workshop into a real world scenario by pitching their projects to local indie producers and receive constructive feedback on both their visual and verbal pitches.

Please note, this workshop has limited space. Only participants who have applied for Workshop 1 are eligible to apply for Workshop 2.

Date: Saturday, Jan 31st

Location: Franklin Commons, 1573 East Pender Street

Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm

Applications for both workshops are due by Friday Dec 19th @ 11:59PM

Participants will be notified for both workshops by Monday Jan 5th.

*We will ask each participant to pay a non-refundable commitment fee of $25 per workshop which will go towards refreshments, snacks and helping Filmable continue offering accessible opportunities to our community.*

**If the workshop fee is a barrier for you, please reach out. We want to make sure this opportunity is accessible to everyone.**

These workshops are generously supported by The Government of Canada, Creative BC and Franklin Commons.
