Lecture Topic: Where Is Jokes? A Guide to Visual Comedy

"We're Taylor Ramos & Tony Zhou, of Every Frame A Painting, and we're proud to present the greatest hour-long lecture you will ever experience at Filmable: called “Where Is Jokes? A Guide to Visual Comedy” and it’s about that most vital & essential aspect of cinema: things that just look funny.

With clips from live-action, animation, classic & modern cinema (plus a sidebar about the hilarious nation of Sweden) our goal is to entertain you for an hour and rekindle your desire to laugh at movies. So please join us on September 24th, and let’s all take a break from whatever negative thing you don’t want to think about in 2025, with an hour of very silly jokes.

What is the Clubhouse?

Funny you should ask. The Clubhouse is where we bring folks together to casually network without the pressure of actually networking. We host consistent get togethers, happy hours, awkward parties, and casual hangs to foster more connectedness in our community. So if you're a grizzled veteran, a new arrival, fresh out of film school or just wanting to simply connect with your peers, the Clubhouse is the most enjoyable way to awkwardly meet your next collaborator. See you there!

Meet Taylor and Tony!

Taylor Ramos & Tony Zhou are the creators of the YouTube series "Every Frame a Painting," and served as writer/directors on the Netflix series “VOIR,” executive produced by David Fincher & David Prior. They are veterans of the Vancouver animation industry for over a decade. Their collaborative work has been featured on FilmStruck and the Criterion Collection. In 2024, they premiered a narrative short, “The Second,” starring Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, and returned to YouTube for a limited miniseries revival of “Every Frame a Painting.”
