A masterclass for directors and DOPs looking to strengthen their visual storytelling and collaboration.

Join three acclaimed local cinematographers as they pull back the curtain on their shot listing process — how they interpret a script, communicate vision with directors, and bring story and emotion to life through shot design.

Following the panel, participants will break into small groups for a hands-on shot listing lab, working from curated script excerpts to build their own shotlists. Teams will have the chance to share their approach, receive feedback, and learn from one another’s creative strategies.
Whether you’re a director building confidence in your visual planning or a DOP seeking new perspectives from peers, this workshop is an opportunity to sharpen your craft and form lasting creative partnerships.

Who should apply:

- Vancouver-based Directors and DOPs at any stage of their career who want to deepen their visual storytelling skills.

- Director–DOP teams are strongly encouraged to apply, though solo participants will also be paired for the breakout sessions.

We’re seeking 20 directors and 20 DOPs for this interactive workshop.

Space is limited. Apply Now!

Applications Close on November 16, 2025 @ 11:59pm.

Successful applicants will be notified by November 21st, 2025.

We will ask each participant to pay a commitment fee of $25 which will go towards refreshments, snacks and helping Filmable continue offering accessible opportunities to our community.

**If the workshop fee is a barrier for you, please reach out. We want to make sure this opportunity is accessible to everyone.**
